Hi Guys! Another end of a month and another book review for my followers and readers. This year, like every year since I graduated from college has flown by- can’t believe its almost September. Anyways, this month I read (very closely) the Stephen Hawking’s New York Times bestseller, Black Holes, Baby Universes, and Other Essays (See HERE) so this will be another long book review and short theoretical essay (if you adore me, you will be read it and leave comments).

This book is a fascinating collection of essays on Mr. Hawking’s personal and professional life. There was no stone left unturned- he even talks about his lifelong illness-ALS. The whole read is a wonderfully interesting and vastly detailed glimpse into his science work since the 1980’s. The readers travel through space and time to learn about all the possibilities from the birth of the universe (or universes, according to him) to the hunt of finding a unifying theory that explains everything in the universe. It is a remarkable feat, but if you read slowly enough, you get to understand a glimpse into one of the greatest thinkers of our time, after Einstein.

Criticized for being boring and repetitive, this book is anything but that. From amusing tales of his childhood and WW2 to his fascinating theories such as time being imaginary, a notion I agreed with in my previous discussions with “important people”, where I called time a man-made concept to measure space. I know Einstein will disagree with both of us (ha ha). He even laments about the public views of sciences such as theoretical physics and it’s relevance in the future if we do find an explanation of EVERYTHING. Overall, a great read if you are a physics or cosmology enthusiast. Comparing his first book (See HERE), this is a far more personal and interesting book, although I liked the former too. This book, however, is less focused on mathematical equations and charts or graphs and more on explaining past (Einstein’s and other physicists’) experiments and current (in 1993) systems of ideas in theoretical psychics, especially relating to black holes. Truly a fascinating read and highly recommended by me.

While reading this book I looked for studies and ideas that conflicted and supported my theories in previous posts. It seems 80% of them so far are being supported by the work of physicists in NASA and other great minds like Mr. Hawkings and Dr. Tyson and vise versa. So those that need a refresher, here are the theories, simply worded for your analysis:

Theory #1: What is a black hole? What if it is a lot of densely packed dark matter with infinite amount of gravitational pull that sucks in matter. As opposed to scarcely spread dark matter that warps matter gently.

Theory #2: In a black hole, is stuff being pulled in or push out from it as if it was a portal? Think of a volcano. That could explain the notion of multi-verse theories where matter from another universe could be spewing out. No one has lived to observe whether stuff is being pulled in or pushed out.

Theory #3: I think everything is energy-even matter and the forces acting on it or against it.

Theory #4-Beginning of universe: What if the universe or space-time as we know it began at Big Bang. Maybe space-time was very different before this event. I think before the Big Bang, there was just antimatter compressed in singularity (kinda like a massive big hole) that sparked and everything including the physical laws we measure were created. Time has a beginning and an end, in my opinion as all known galaxies move into their respective black holes.

Theory #5: In a metaphysical sense, what if we assign a number to every energy/force in the universe-love or hate; take or give; truth or lie; push or pull and see if we can come up with a mathematical equation. Maybe we can figure out the intention of God behind every and anything that happens in the universe.

Theory #6: Think of black holes’ mechanics as whirlpool mechanics. In a whirlpool, if the tides are fast enough, two opposing currents can form a whirlpool. The high pressure region between these two currents will then attract air (or matter in black hole’s case) from the surrounding area, which will move towards the center and sink, spawning a downdraft. What if black holes and magnetic currents/waves work the same way?

Theory #7: Scientist say that black holes are carnage of a star. What if a massive star that explodes creates a dent in the fabric of space-time so deep that it creates gravitational pulling of 1000+ suns and sucks all the matter around it (alternate theory to theory # 1)?

Theory #8: This theory has something to with quantum mechanics rather than the theory of relativity. We know positive and negative atoms attract though a force called electromagnetism. We know the “+” protons are larger than the “-” electrons. What if to create a stable atom and consequentially stable large matters, we need to have protons create a warp in space-time and through electromagnetism (and gravity as some scientists like Einstein would claim), the electrons come into this charged warped space-time and thus create an equal (stable) atom.
